The American SUV manufacturer Jeep announced plans to launch the Grand Cherokee SUV in India earlier this year. Now, it appears that the company will introduce the SUV by the end of this year or at the beginning of 2023. A new test mule for the upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV has now been sighted on Indian roads testing with camouflage applied exclusively to the badging. The Grand Cherokee will be a domestically assembled product for the Indian market, the brand has already stated.

The SUV's back profile was visible on a test mule that was recently spotted. The SUV's upright back stance and stylish LED tail lamps are clearly visible. When it comes to the exterior, the SUV will have somewhat similar frontal Jeep grille as the Meridian. The model that was seen was the five-seat version. The larger 3-row 7-seater Grand Cherokee L may also be introduced by the brand to the Indian market.
When it comes to the Grand Cherokee's powertrain, a 2.0-liter diesel engine and 8-speed automatic transmission are anticipated. Jeep will offer a four-wheel drive version of the Grand Cherokee in the country as well. The Grand Cherokee is offered a variety of powertrain options in international markets, including plug-in hybrids.

The brand has already confirmed a couple of the modern features that will be seen inside the upcoming Grand Cherokee. The India-specific model will have three screens-one for the front passenger, one for the instrument cluster, one for the infotainment system, and one for the panoramic sunroof. A heads-up display, leather seats, and a motorised tailgate are among the other goodies.
Jeep India hasn't provided a specific debut date for the upcoming Grand Cherokee, although it could happen before the end of the year or even in early 2023. However, all of this is currently just speculation.
