In a recent price hike from Kia India, the prices of their budget-friendly MPV, Carens, saw a steep hike of Rs 70,000 for some of the variants. Similarly, other models like Sonet, Seltos and Carnival also see a hike from as low as Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 for some of the variants.
The base, premium variant of the Kia Carens was earlier priced from Rs 8.99 lakh and now gets a hike of Rs 60,000 from before. The new price sticks to Rs 9.59 lakh. The top of the line Luxury+ 7Str is now priced at Rs 17.69 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi. Be it the petrol engines or the diesel, Carens gets the maximum price hike from all of the Kia models currently present in the country.
Kia Carens is powered by three engine options - a 1.5L petrol making 113 bhp on tap with 144 Nm of peak torque, a 1.4L turbo petrol generating 138 bhp power with 242 Nm of maximum torque and the 1.5L oil burner producing 113 bhp of power with 250 Nm of torque. All the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while for the automatic, the 1.4L petrol gets a 7-speed DCT and the diesel motor gets a 6-speed AT. There is no provision for the 1.5L petrol automatic.

Moving towards the Seltos then the base HTE is now priced at Rs 10.19 lakh and the top of the line, X-line Diesel AT now comes at Rs 18.45 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi. In other news, Kia has also launched the diesel iMT of the Seltos making it the first SUV in the country to get an iMT gearbox with the diesel engine.
The ever-popular compact SUV, Sonet is now priced from Rs 7.15 lakh to Rs 13.69 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. In other news, Kia is also bringing some standard safety features on the Sonet in the coming months and with that, we can expect another price hike with this SUV.
The flagship, Carnival gets Rs 50,000 price hike on all of its variants. The new price starts from Rs 29.99 lakh to Rs 34.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is powered by a 2.2L diesel unit making 197 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 440 Nm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission only.
