In July 2022, KIA India introduced the Seltos facelift with three engine options in the Indian market. Now, nearly six months after the launch, the brand has launched the Diesel Manual Transmission variants of the Seltos facelift, priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). KIA Seltos Features
The updated KIA Seltos features a refreshed design, enhancing its visual appeal on the road. It includes a redesigned front grille and headlamps, a new bumper at both the front and rear, revamped rear tail lamps with a light bar, and a fresh set of alloy wheels for the top-spec variants. The facelift extends to the interior, receiving a significant makeover for a more premium appearance. Inside, you'll find a new dashboard design housing two 10.25-inch screens one serving as the instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment display. Additionally, there's a new HVAC panel with dual-zone climate control, along with other noticeable changes.
On the features front, it gets a dual-screen panoramic display, Dual Zone Fully Automatic Air Conditioner, and R17 Crystal Cut Alloy Wheels. Other remarkable features include a Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof and an Electric Parking Brake. The new Seltos also offers 32 safety features, including 15 safety standards across the range and 17 Level 2 ADAS autonomous features.
KIA Seltos Diesel Specifications
The KIA Seltos diesel variant is equipped with a 1.5-liter diesel engine that generates 116 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Initially, this engine was offered with the 6-speed iMT and an AT gearbox. Now, the brand has introduced the option of a 6-speed MT gearbox for the diesel variant as well.

Verdict
The introduction of the new KIA Seltos Diesel MT gearbox variants is set to attract consumers who prefer a manual transmission over the clutchless iMT gearbox or an automatic transmission. Enthusiasts of manual transmissions will appreciate this decision by the brand, and the availability of manual transmission with a diesel engine across all the Tech Line variants will cater to a broad consumer base. The KIA Seltos has now become more competitive in a segment where only a few diesel cars remain. The Seltos continue to compete with the Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, MG Astor and others.
