We just saw the unveiling of the Nissan Magnite and here comes Kia Motors India with another milestone. The Kia Sonet - arguably the hottest sub-compact SUV on sale in India right now - has touched the milestone of 50,000 bookings, that too in just 2 months from launch. The pricing of the Sonet was nothing to write home about yet it flourished to the roof. What makes the Kia Sonet special, let's find out.
Kia Sonet bags in over 50,000 bookings in just 2 months from the launch date and 60% of the bookers opted for the petrol variants. The 1.2L petrol and 1.0L turbo recorded 60% of the total bookings whereas the rest was for the diesel variants. The Sonet has the most sophisticated diesel automatic option for buyers looking for a premium automatic experience. Having the diesel automatic straight from the Seltos is a big advantage for the Sonet.

Moreover, Kia Sonet also offers a great blend of sportiness and features to lure the buyers. Kia Sonet also brought in some first in segment features like the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, ventilated seats, drive and traction modes and a lot more. Kia also tried to capture the talk of the town by calling the smart air purifier with a virus scanner. It surely didn't kill coronavirus but a nifty touch in today's day and age.
Talking about the powertrains of the Kia Sonet, we have three engine options and five transmission options. The base 1.2-litre petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission whereas the 1.0-litre turbo petrol comes with 6-speed clutchless manual transmission and DCT. The diesel engine on the other hand comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission.
