Kia Sonet is one of the most popular compact SUVs in the Indian market. Introduced first in 2020, this car has seen several variants revision, features deletion and addition, and now the carmaker is following the steps of its elder sibling, the Seltos. Just like the X Line version of the Seltos, Kia will now introduce the same in the Sonet as well.
This X Line version of the Sonet will be based on the top-of-the-line GTX Plus variant and other than getting similar features, everything else will remain different in this one. For starters, we can expect a matte grey exterior colour paint just like we saw in the Seltos X Line.
Other changes to the exterior might include larger alloy wheels, X Line badging on the fenders and the bootlid, blacked-out elements across the body (grille, ORVMs, door handles etc) and some orange or red highlights to give a nice contrast to the compact SUV.

The South Korean carmaker will be reducing the overall chrome present in the SUV for a glossy black treatment. We can also expect smoked taillights too once the Sonet X Line is launched. This X Line version of the Sonet will be more of a cosmetic upgrade. On the inside, expect an all-black cabin and the seats will be offered in Indigo Pera shade.
The mechanicals will remain the same as before. Under the hood, the Sonet X Line will receive a 1.0L turbo petrol motor and a 1.5L diesel engine. The former belts out a peak power and torque of 118 bhp and 172 Nm, respectively while the oil burner generates 113 bhp of power with a maximum torque of 250 Nm.
The 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine will get mated to a 7-speed DCT only while the oil burner will get a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The mileage figure is expected to stick more or less the same as found in the regular versions.

As of now, there is no news on the official launch but we can expect it to be around the time when Hyundai will be bringing in the N Line version of the Venue which is on Sept 6. Do expect a rise of Rs 20,000 for the X Line version over the regular GTX trim.
