Kia Syros: Design
We have come across multiple spyshots of the upcoming mid-size SUVs, but with camouflage each time. Despite this, now we have a decent idea of how the Syros will look like. The Kia Syros will derive most design elements from the big Kia cars such as EV9 and Carnival. With a premium appeal, the Syros will get a rugged and boxy design. The side profile adorns an integrated roof rails, supplementing the SUV appeal. In the front, it features vertically stacked headlights with a unique LED DRL positioning. Coming at the backside, the Syros has L-shaped LED tail lights and a flat tailgate which add to the SUV appeal.
Kia Syros: Features on Board
Though we don't have much information available about the set of features, but there are expectations that the Syros will have a similar interior layout as the Sonet and Seltos. Having look at the series of teasers released by the automaker we can now confirm that the Syros will feature a dual 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof. The infotainment unit will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other feature on offer could include level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags (standard), ventilated seats and powered driver seats.
Powertrain
However, there is no official word on the engine options, but we expect the upcoming SUV to get the same engine options as the Sonet compact SUV. These include a 1.2 litre NA petrol, 1.2 litre turbo petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engine.
Engine | Gearbox | Power | Torque |
1.2 litre NA petrol | 5-MT | 83 PS | 115 Nm |
1.2 litre turbo petrol | 6-iMT/ 7-DCT | 120 PS | 172 Nm |
1.5 litre diesel | 6-MT/ 6-iMT/ 6-AT | 116 PS | 250 Nm |

Verdict
The Kia Syros aims to carve a unique niche with its rugged design, premium features, and strategic placement between the Seltos and Sonet. With expected highlights like a dual 10.25-inch infotainment system, ADAS, and versatile engine options, it promises strong appeal. However, its true impact will depend on competitive pricing and how well it stands out in the crowded SUV market.
