Mahindra Thar 5-Door being spied is now a regular sight across India. The test mules are hovering pan India to test the new bigger Thar. Adding to this list are the new photos of a test mules incoming from Ladakh. These spy shots reveal that the 5-Door will get a different design than the 3-Door. Also, it'll get more features. Mahindra Thar 5-Door: Unique Design & More Features!
While the overall shape of the upcoming 5-Door Thar looks the same as the 3-Door version; it'll get a different design. As visible in the spy shots, the front is equipped with a unique grille with unique vertical slats & horizontal differentiator. Also, the headlights are LED projectors and even the fog lights are LED projectors. Similarly, the taillights are LED but the glow pattern will be different than the current Thar. In addition to it, the test mule has a dash cam fitted behind the infotainment screen. We're not sure whether Mahindra will equip the 5-Door Thar with dashcam or not.
Meanwhile, the earlier test mule spotting have already revealed that it'll get a sunroof as well as front & rear center armrests. In fact, the infotainment system will be bigger in size. Additionally, it might offer more connected features to the customers. Under the hood, Mahindra shall use the current powertrain options but these will be heavily retuned. The power & torque figures can also be changed and the 5-Door will be completely different than the 3-Door Thar in driving department.
Verdict
Mahindra plans to debut the Thar 5-Door early next year. We're suspecting that the launch will also take place in January'24. Additionally, a facelift of the XUV300 is also on its way which shall follow its launch after the 5-Door Thar. Pricing can be on the premium side as it'll not have any tax benefits. Hence, Mahindra can keep it somewhere in the price bracket of Rs 13-20 lakh (depending on the variant choices).
