Mahindra is set to launch the most-awaited bigger sibling of the Thar 3-Door, the Thar Roxx on 15 August. The brand has released multiple teasers of the SUV and now the exterior of the upcoming SUV has been revealed. Mahindra has released the images White & Black colour option of the upcoming 5-door Thar, showing the front and side profiles as well. Mahindra Thar Roxx Exterior
The upcoming Thar Roxx will be based on the 3G platform as the Scorpio N and will be built on a ladder frame chassis. The SUV will get a new front grille, new alloy wheel design, dual-tone treatment with blacked-out rear area of the roof, hidden rear door handles, and a new set of LED projector headlamps with C-shaped DRLs and tail lamps. The brand has revealed the White & Black colour option of the upcoming SUV which closely showcases the new design elements.
If we talk about the changes in the 5-door version, it will boast better mechanical elements such as better suspension tuning with better dampening components borrowed from the Scropio N. To enhance the off-road performance of the 5-door version the brand will also offer more off-road-centric features.
Moreover, it will get new features as well such as a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new digital instrument cluster, level 2 ADAS features, a Harmon Kardon music system, and more.

Mahindra Thar Roxx Engine Options
The upcoming Thar Roxx is expected to get the same engine options as the 3-Door version. The 3-Door version currently offers a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT gearbox. The other engine option is the 2.2-litre turbo diesel motor paired with a 6-speed MT and an AT gearbox. These two engine options are expected to be available in the 5-door version as well.
Verdict
The Mahindra Thar is a niche product but it has a good brand value and a huge fan following. The demand for a Thar is high, but the practical issues of the 3-door configuration have turned off some customers. With the launch of the 5-Door Thar Roxx, Mahindra will be able to cater these buyers. The 5-Door version will offer good practicality with good space for the occupants as well as luggage. The Thar Roxx will also offer enhanced features which will make it more feature loaded and user friendly. The upcoming Mahindra Thar Roxx will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-Door.
