MGs fourth new offering, the Astor has had quite the attention to itself, and for reasons deservingly so. For starters, this is the first midsize SUV in India to feature a personalised AI assistant, and Level 2 Autonomous Driving Assistance System (ADAS). There are two engines on offer, a 1.5-litre petrol engine that can be mated to either 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT, and the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine that can be had with a 6-speed automatic as well. The Astor is available in four different trims - Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. Leaving aside the top two trims, the base Astor models have a cheaper price tag and it has some useful features as well. So, how does the base Style variant fair in the Astor line-up? Check out our detailed MG Astor Style features and specs analysis.
MG Astor Style: Exterior Features
By the looks of it, the MG Astor will rightfully remind you of the MG ZS EV. In fact, both are the same car with different powertrains. When it comes to design, the Astor seems to be the better bejewelled one. Starting off with the redesigned chrome-studded grille design which now looks much better, especially when seen with the Spiced Orange exterior colour. The headlights and taillights are full-LED units, with fog lamps and rear defogger.
The tiny rear spoiler and faux dual exhaust set-up give it a nice sporty touch as well. However, since this is the base model, the Astor Style rides on 16 steel wheels with wheel covers, instead of the turbine inspired machined alloy wheels in top trims. The features in the base Astor model have been kept very minimal, and in addition, there are accessories at best that you can further add, to the mix.

MG Astor Style: Interior Features
The Astor Style variants come with a standard interior theme of Dual Tone Iconic Ivory. The seat upholstery is made of premium fabric, and the dashboard gets soft touch finish. Theres also premium leather layering on the door trims, the armrests and the centre console. Besides, the door handles and the front and rear air vents get satin chrome highlights. The base Astor Style is also the first in its segment where it gets automatic climate control with a PM 2.5 filter to keep the air inside cleaner.

MG Astor Style: Infotainment features
The base Astor Style comes fitted with a massive 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It can be controlled via both steering mounted controls and touchscreen feedback. The base model does miss out on the massive digital instrument cluster available with the top models. But a small 3.5-inch coloured multi-info display on the instrument cluster is an equally useful feature in an analogue set-up. Besides, it gets USB, FM and Bluetooth music and calling, and a pre-installed Jio Saavn app to stream music and MGs i-Smart next-gen which syncs your mobile to the infotainment unit.
MG Astor Style: Safety
On the safety front, the base MG Astor Style might not come loaded as much as its expensive top models. For it gets 2 airbags for the front passenger and driver. For good stopping power, aside from four disc brakes, the Astor Style also gets a standard electronic stability program, along with ABS, electronic brake distribution, and Brake assist.
The Astor Style trim comes standard with Traction Control, active cornering brake control, Hill Hold Control and Hill Descent Assist. However, it does miss out on a reverse parking camera, and with such a big infotainment screen it would have made sense. But MG substitutes that with reverse parking sensors.

The MG Astor Style comes with just one engine option and that is the 1.5-litre VTi-TECH engine that produces 108 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. It comes mated to 5-speed manual transmission only. The same engine can also be had with a CVT, but not in the base Style variant With this engine and transmission combination, the Astor is not bursting with performance, and at the same time, its not a slouch either. On Indian highways, it can hold its ground and swiftly pass-through traffic. In the city too, the manual transmission feels light to shift, and with the correct steering, the mode will feel effortless.
