MG Motor India seems to be planning to bring another EV to the Indian market. The brand has registered a patent for a new EV called the MG Cloud EV. The newly registered patent of the Cloud EV indicates that this could be the third EV offering by MG in India. MG Cloud EV
The MG Cloud EV has been spotted on test in India a few weeks back and it has given a peak to the design language of the upcoming EV. The new patent image has revealed the complete design of the EV. The Cloud EV will boast an LED light bar on the front, projector LED headlamps, a closed front grille, and a wide air dam in the lower bumper area.
On the side, it will boast a fender-mounted charging port, front door-mounted ORVMs, machined alloy wheels, and flush door handles. Moreover, the rear of the EV was not visible but the previously spotted test mule showed an integrated roof spoiler, and if you look at the international spec model it will get a connected tail lamp design at the rear. Dimensions of the Cloud EV measure 4,295 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height, and boasts a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
The interior is expected to get a similar set of features as the international spec model which include automatic climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, horizontally mounted AC vents, and a spacious interior with plush seats.

Upcoming MG Cloud EV - Specifications
The upcoming MG Cloud is already on sale in countries like Indonesia and Laos as Wuling Cloud & Baojun Cloud EV. It comes with two battery pack options 37.9 kWh and 50.6 kWh. The smaller battery pack gives it a range of up to 360 km and the bigger 50.6 kWh battery pack gives a range of 460 km.
Verdict
MG Motor India has recently entered in a joint venture with JSW and the partnership has promised that they will bring new EVs to the Indian market. The recently filed patent of the Cloud EV indicates that the it could be the first EV under the new JV.
