MG Motor India has finally introduced a much awaited update for the Comet EV. The MG Comet EV now features fast charging support with the debut of two new variants. The brand has unveiled the new Excite FC and Exclusive FC variants, both equipped with fast charging capabilities. Additionally, a new naming scheme has been introduced for its variants. MG Comet New Variants & Pricing
MG Motor has rebranded the variants of the Comet EV, replacing the previous names Push, Play, and Pace with Executive, Excite, and Exclusive respectively.

MG Comet EV New Features
The newly unveiled MG Comet variants, Excite FC and Exclusive FC, will be available with fast charging capabilities at competitive prices of Rs 8.23 Lakh and Rs 9.13 Lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
On the features front, these variants offer a range of safety and advanced features, including Electronic Parking Brake, Electronic Stability Control, Rear Disc Brake, Hill-Hold Control, power foldable ORVM, turn indicator integrated DRL, Creep mode, and body-colored ORVM, along with AC Fast Charging options.
The brand has not disclosed the charging duration for the fast charging variants, but we expect a reduction from 7 hours and 5 hours to approximately 2 to 3 hours.

The MG Comet EV is constructed on the versatile GSEV (Global Smart Electric Vehicle) platform. This smart electric vehicle boasts a sleek and roomy design. It features iSMART infotainment with more than 55 connected features. Equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack, it delivers 42 PS of power and a peak torque of 110 NM.
Verdict
Previously, the MG Comet EV did not offer fast charging support, but the brand has addressed this limitation by introducing AC fast charging capability with the new variants. This enhancement is expected to broaden the appeal of the Comet EV, attracting customers who were hesitant to opt for it due to the lack of fast charging support. With this upgrade, the Comet can now be utilized for short highway trips as well.
