MG Comet EV Now Cheaper By Rs 1 Lakh
MG sells the Comet EV as its most affordable electric car in India. Previously priced at Rs 7.98 lakh onwards, the new pricing has brought the bar down to Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the catch is that this pricing is only effective for the base variant. MG offers the Comet in three variants: Pace, Play, and Plus. The price cut of Rs 1 lakh stands effective for the Pace variant for now. There is a possibility that the pricing of the other two versions will be revised soon.
MG Comet is powered by a 17.3kWh battery pack which offers a real-world range of upwards 200 km on a single charge. The small size, comfortable ride quality, and feature-loaded cabin are some of its highlights. However, the lack of a fast charging option and steep pricing have held buyers back until now. But the latest price cut will help in selling better volumes of it. Its main competitor is the Tata Tiago EV.
Verdict
MG Comet is a small EV hatchback that is loved for its perfect city usability. However, its pricing have been on the higher side since its launch in India. The latest price cut for the base version is surely going to be helpful to the new customers as well as the company.
