MG Motors India has discontinued the SUPER variant of the Gloster SUV in India. The SUPER variant was the base entry-level variant in the Gloster lineup. After this, the 7-seater SHARP is now the new base entry-level variant in the MG Gloster lineup. MG Gloster now starts at Rs 38.07 lakh ex-showroom for the 4X2 7-Seater SHARP variant. MG Gloster Base 'Super' Variant Discontinued: Remaining Variants
After the discontinuation of the SUPER variant, the MG Gloster is now available only in 5 variants i.e. 4X4 7-Seater SAVVY, 4X2 7-Seater SAVVY, 4X4 6-Seater SAVVY, 4X2 6-Seater SAVVY, and 4X2 7-Seater SHARP. The price range of MG Gloster now starts from Rs 38.07 lakh and goes up to Rs 42.37 lakh ex-showroom. Additionally, all the variants get dual-tone color options with an extra Rs 20,000 charge. Moreover, while the new base SHARP variant is only available with 7-seats & 4X2, the SAVVY variant comes with an option for 6 as well as 7-seats and 4X2 or 4X4.
MG Gloster Powertrain & Drivetrain Specs
The MG Gloster comes with a 2-litre diesel engine. Further, it comes in two states of tune, a single turbo version producing 161 Bhp of power and 375 Nm of torque, and a twin-turbo version producing 215 Bhp of power and 480 Nm of torque. Both versions come with only an 8-speed automatic transmission and no manual gearbox option. However, the twin-turbo version also gets a shift-on-fly 4WD system which the single-turbo version misses out on.

Verdict: The reason behind the discontinuation of the base SUPER variant of MG Gloster is unknown. But it seems that MG might have done this because of low demand & low sales.
