After introducing the Blackstorm Editions of Astor and Gloster SUVs, MG has launched the all-new MG Hector and the Hector Plus Blackstorm at a starting price of Rs.21.25 Lakhs While it gets an all-black paint job, it exudes a more sporty and sharp stance with the red and dark chrome inserts around the exterior. MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Exterior Highlights
The MG Hector and the Hector Plus BLACKSTORM edition comes with an all-black exterior with red accents running around the SUV. You get red outlining on the headlamps along with a red strip on the ORVMs. The alloys are now dipped in pitch black and are accentuated by red brake calipers adding that sharp undertone. The physical cuts and creases remain the same and it is the colour scheme that is at play here.
It is further accentuated by dark chrome elements such as brand logos, Argyle-inspired Diamond Mesh front grille, inserts on the skid Plates, tailgate garnish, and Dark Chrome Finish in the Body Side Cladding. The premium look is further enhanced by the Piano Black Roof Rails, LED Headlamp with Piano Black bezel, and Smoked Connecting Tail lights, Additionally, the customers can get the BLACKSTORM Emblem fitted at the dealership at no extra cost.
Interior And Features: Dark And Sharp
Moving into the cabin, you are greeted by an all-black upholstery with black stitch lining along with a blacked-out interior and gunmetal accents throughout the cabin for a more stealthy appeal. In terms of features, MG cars never disappoint and the Hector Blackstorm is no different. It continues with the existing tech list and comes with features like a vertically stacked 14-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, ADAS, and more. In terms of safety, you get 6 airbags, TPMS, 360-degree camera, ESC, and more. The new edition also offers the first-in-segment Digital Bluetooth Key and key-sharing capability and more than 75 connected features including 100 voice commands
Powertrain: Continues Forward
The MG Hector Blackstorm continues with the same engine options. You get the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 143 PS power with max. torque of 250 Nm. It comes with transmission options including a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The 2.0-litre diesel unit is more potent at 170 PS power with a peak torque of 350 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Hector Plus continues with its existing powertrain options as well.

Pricing
The Blackstorm Edition of Hector starts at Rs. 21.25 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 22.75 lakhs for the 21.95 lakhs. The Hector Plus BLACKSTORM variants pricing starts at Rs. 21.98 lakhs and goes all the way up to Rs. 22.76 lakhs. The break-up of the price is tabled below.
Verdict
This launch is the third in Blckstorm series of MG cars where we already have the Gloster and Astor models. While buyers already had affinity towards black colour, this new edition with a touch of red and gun metal inserts ups the ante and delivers something more than just black.
