MG Motor India just completed its one year anniversary with the Hector which is no doubt the most loved SUV in the Indian markets. To continue the legacy of providing more at affordable prices, MG has now launched a six-seater version which goes by the name Hector Plus.
The prices of MG Hector Plus starts from Rs 13.49 lakh for the base variant and the top model fetches till Rs 18.53 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The six-seater SUV competes with the likes of Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
When comparing the dimensions, Hector Plus adds 40 mm of length to accomodate the 3rd-row bench seat. The wheelbase, width and ground clearance, all remain the same. MG Hector Plus also gets the same petrol, petrol hybrid and 2.0L oil burner but more to that later.

Sharing highlights on the interiors then it now gets an updated tan upholstery which now looks premium than before. Also, the 'Plus One' seems to be evidently clear. The middle row continues with the captain seats which gives a clear comfort level. Post few months, MG is also expected to launch a 7-seat layout in Hector Plus which will replace the captain seat in the middle row with a bench layout.
Feature-wise, Hector Plus get one additional point over the Hector and that is swipe to open tailgate. Basically, you can swipe your leg under the boot to open it automatically. Rest, it continues with the identical 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets powered front seat, panoramic sunroof, connected car care technology, ambient lighting and more.

Coming towards the design then the front now gets a much more cleaner and an aggressive detailing. It gets revised headlight design with new grille and tweaked bumper design. At the rear, the Hector Plus strips off the chrome plate which previously joined the taillights in the standard model.
Safety options on this one include as much as six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, 360-degree camera, ESC and more. The prices mentioned above are just introductory prices and will get higher post 13th August by up to Rs 50,000.
