MG Gloster Facelift: Launch Soon

MG Gloster Facelift

The flagship SUV from the brand is gearing up for a refresh soon. The MG Gloster facelift has been posted on various sources online doing its final rounds of testing before coming out of veils towards the end of 2024. What to expect from this update? It draws its roots from the Maxus D90 by MGs parent company SAIC. The Gloster tailored for the Indian market is essentially a rebranded iteration of the D90. Despite featuring a completely revamped exterior with larger dimensions and interior design, it is anticipated to maintain its current mechanical specifications.

Inside the cabin, the Gloster facelift is poised to receive an updated dashboard hosting a larger touchscreen display, revamped air conditioning vents, and a redesigned center console housing revised switchgear. Despite these interior enhancements, the mechanical aspect is anticipated to retain the existing 2.0-liter diesel engine, available in both 4x2 and 4x4 drive configurations.

MG Cloud EV: A Rival To The Upcoming Hyundai Creta EV

The MG Cloud EV, designed with an MPV-style aesthetic, offers a compact yet spacious design. Its sleek exterior features full LED headlamps, a connected LED beam upfront, and a sloping roofline reminiscent of an MPV. With dimensions measuring 4,295 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height, it is marketed under various names internationally, such as the Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia and the Baojun Yunduo in China.

Internally, the MG Cloud EV is expected to offer a range of advanced features, including a large centrally floating infotainment screen, wireless charging, dual-zone automatic control, ventilated seats, an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument display, and many more. Incorporating LingOS 2.0 ecological cockpit technology, it promises a comfortable and eco-friendly driving experience. Safety features are likely to include up to 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and an ADAS suite, among many more. With pricing expected somewhere around Rs. 18-20 lakhs, it will rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. It is expected to launch somewhere around the end of 2024.

Verdict

MG has quickly made a respectable name for itself in the market with its Hector, Astor, and other SUVs, however it still needs aggressive push for a comprehensive strong hold. With that in mind, the brand is aiming to roll out refreshes and new models on regular intervals, which looks like a good thing for prospective customers as they will get regular updates and new models in variosu segments.
