MG Motor India is all set to launch its third EV offering, the Windsor EV for the Indian market on 11th September. The upcoming MG Windsor EV will be launched under Rs 20 lakh price tag in India and it will compete with the likes of Tata Nexon EV & Mahindra XUV 400. MG Windsor EV
The upcoming MG Windsor EV will be the rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV which is on sale in international market. The upcoming EV will be 4.3-metre long and will boast a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. This EV will look like a big hatchback and will offer a good space inside the cabin. It will boast a curvy design with LED headlamp, LED light bar at front acting as DRL, flush type door handles, connected tail lamp and an integrated roof spoiler.
The brand has recently teased the interior of the EV and it will boast a 135-degree reclinable rear seat with 60:40 split configuration and an armrest. The rear-row will also get a rear AC vent. The seats will be covered with faux leather material with golden inserts. On the features front the EV will get a touchscreen infotainment, wireless connectivity, digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control among other features.

MG Windsor EV Specifications
The upcoming MG EV is expected to get the same powertrain options as the Wuling Cloud EV. In the international market the Wuling Cloud EV is available with a 37.9 kWh and a 50.6 kWh battery pack options. The former gives a range of 360 km and the latter gives a claimed range of 460 km.
Verdict
The upcoming MG Windsor EV will tap in the mid-size offerings in the Indian market. It will go head on with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 400 and it is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 14-20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Windsor EV will be the first EV launch after the MG Motors joint venture with JSW.
