Skoda Kylaq: Some More Details!
Skoda says that the Kylaq will come equipped with 'more than 25 active and passive' safety features, which will include six airbags, traction control, stability control, ABS with EBD, brake disc wiping, roll-over protection, motor slip regulation, electronic differential lock, Passenger airbag de-activation, Multi Collision Braking and ISOFIX seats among many other things.
It is clear that Skoda is aiming for a five-star rating at the BNCAP crash tests, and Skoda is also likely to feature an ADAS suite along with a 360-degree camera.
The MQB-A0-IN platform, which the Kylaq shares with the Kushaq and the Slavia, was always meant to conceive a sub-4m SUV. Hence, this was the perfect opportunity for the Kylaq to be green-lit, especially when the compact SUV segment is booming. As such, the overall length of the Kylaq is also under 4 metres long, obviously.
The Kylaq has also been tested in a wide range of weather conditions, and Skoda also ensures zero water ingress during monsoons. The ground clearance of the Kylaq is also 189mm, which is up there with its sibling, the Kushaq, but still lesser than the likes of the Tata Nexon and the Hyundai Venue.

Under the hood, we know that the Kylaq will be powered by the same 1.0-litre TSI engine, producing 113.9bhp and 178Nm of torque, paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission, or a 6-speed torque converter.
Verdict
The Kylaq is all set to make its global debut on November 6, and Skoda believes that this compact SUV will help it penetrate the Indian market deeper, particularly into the Tier-3 and Tier-4 cities, despite stiff competition from a wide number of rivals in this segment.
