Mahindra is working on the new XUV500 which is expected to go on sale next year. The next-gen XUV500 will be a completely new product and will get both, diesel as well as petrol engine options. The brand also unveiled its all-new range of turbo petrol engines in the 2020 Auto Expo and branded them as mStallion engines. At present, there are three mStallion turbo motors available with Mahindra which include 1.2-L, 1.5-L, and 2.0-L. The 2.0-L motor is also seen on the new Thar and will also be powering the upcoming Scorpio. However, it is worth noting that the new New 2021 Mahindra XUV500 Turbo Petrol will get the most powerful 2.0-L mStallion turbo petrol engine. Read on to find more details.
The New 2021 Mahindra XUV500 Turbo Petrol will be powered by a 2.0-L mStallion motor which is expected to deliver around 190 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, with the maximum output of 190 bhp, this will be the most powerful Mahnira engine so far. The new mStallion engines will also be shared with upcoming products from Ford as well as Ssangyong. This 2.0-l turbo petrol engine will be mated to a 6-speed MT or with an Aisin-sourced 6-speed AT gearbox.

The upcoming Scorpio too is expected to be powered by the same engine but it is believed that the overall output from this motor in this vehicle will be significantly lower than that of the next-gen XUV500. The Scorpio turbo petrol is expected to feature a max power output of around 10 bhp while the maximum torque output may remain somewhere around 350 Nm. The mStallion engines are said to be extremely fun to drive and mimic the diesel-like character. In addition to this, these engines are also said to highly fuel-efficient as well as reliable in the long run.
The new XUV500 will also feature a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine which is expected to deliver 150 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque.
