The 2022 Hyundai Tucson safety crash test results reveal that the car scored an adult occupant protection rating of 86 per cent while the child occupancy ratings stand at 87 per cent. The car also scored a seventy per cent rating for Safety Assist. The car on test comes equipped with frontal airbags, belt pre-tensioners, belt load limiter, side head airbag, side chest airbag, side pelvis airbag, and centre airbag. The Tucson also gets rear ISOFIX mounts and seat belt reminders while it also gets AEB car-to-car, Speed Assistance, and Lane Assist System.

As per the official reports, Tucson gets a stable compartment and offers good protection to the knees and femurs of both the driver and passenger. The car also showed a similar level of protection to the legs of occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in different positions. The protection of the driver's chest was however marginal. The airbags worked well and gets advanced emergency call systems that alert the emergency services in the event of a crash. The car also applies brakes after a collision to prevent secondary impacts.
