The new Mahindra Thar has been one of the most successful launches for the brand in the Indian market. The new Thar is offered as a more practical and a more capable vehicle which also offers supreme comfort. With the waiting period of more than ten months, the new Mahindra Thar price has been updated by the brand. The new prices will be applicable for the bookings made from January 8th, 2021. With the Indian carmaker announcing a price hike of around 1.9 percent, the new price hike is applicable across its portfolio. Having said that, the new Mahindra Thar price starts from Rs 11.90 lakh for the AX(O) soft top petrol variant while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 12.10 lakh. The hardtop variant of the diesel version of AX(O) trim is priced at Rs 12.20 lakh. Overall, the new prices are around Rs 20,000 more expensive when compared to the older price of the AX(O) trim options.

The LX trim range, on the other hand, starts from Rs 12.29 lakh for the petrol hardtop version while the diesel LX range starts from Rs 12.85 lakh. The manual LX models are now more expensive by Rs 30,000 while the automatic LX trims are more expensive by Rs 40,000. The new Thar can be had with hardtop as well as the soft top in addition to a convertible option.
As per Mahindra, the company received over 6,500 bookings for the new launch. To reduce the waiting period, the company is planning to upgrade the production facility in January.
