- Tata Safari facelift spotted testing
- Both Safari and Harrier slated to get a facelift
- Design theme to follow Tata's new Curvv-concept
The latest to come on to the testing ground appears to be the Facelifted Tata Safari. Yes, the new Tata Safari and obviously, Tata Harrier are getting a facelift soon. And the same has been spotted in testing just recently. What's more interesting to know is that it could very well be in its electric version as well. Why do we say that? There are a few things that the test mule hints at.
Let us look at what we think this one will evolve into, given the things we noticed.
Tata Safari Facelift Possibly In Electric- Spotted
Tata is currently working on imparting a new Curvv-inspired design language to its models moving forward. The Tata Safari and Harrier are already under testing with a new facelift. In fact, Tata Nexon is also slated for a facelift very soon. It is also carrying the new Curvv concept-themed design elements. Like before, Tata will continue with its ICE to the electric strategy with little tweaks in elements.
Coming back to this, it is the facelifted Tata Safari as the dimensions confirm. On top of that, this might be the electric version of the Tata Safari. Why do we say so? As observed by many, the exhaust at the rear end is not visible in Safari, but there's something else that gives a hint of an electric motor with a battery beneath. It's the more covered-up alloy design for better air drag management. Like all other EV cars, it seems like the alloys are designed to increase the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

Feature Packed
Just recently at the Auto Expo 2023, we saw a lot of tech features added on the Tata Safari Dark Red Edition. From 360-degree camera, ADAS, 7-inch instrument cluster along with an all-new 10-inch infotainment unit. All these features along with multi-zone climate control, cruise control, and driver seat memory function will be making their way as well. Also, the second-row ventilated seating will be available too, though on the higher variants only.
Powertrain - Tata Safari facelift
The powertrain on the new safari is not likely to change. It comes with a 2.0-liter diesel engine that churns out 170 PS power with a peak torque of 250 Nm. This same engine remains intact. However, a new 1.5-liter turbo petrol unit is on the cards. We expect these two to be the engine options on the facelifted Safari.
VERDICT- Since the Tata Safari directly locks horns with Mahindra XUV700, it ups its game in the tech section. With many class-leading techs onboard, it might see some more loadings on its arrival. Harrier, in a natural progression, will get all the design updates similar to Safari, but the same cannot be said about its features list.
