Nissan India Rejigs Magnite Variants And Delete Some Features - All You Need To Know

Nissan Magnite is one of the most affordable compact SUVs in the Indian market and quite a capable one too as we took it to Umling La - World's Highest Motorable Road. Now, the Japanese carmaker has rejigged the variants of Magnite and also deleted some features.

As for the variants, the CVT unit is now available in the top-spec XV Turbo and XV Premium Turbo. Earlier, it was affordable as it was available with XL Turbo and XV Executive turbo. The prices of the turbo petrol motor with CVT transmission start from Rs 9.68 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

The carmaker has also deleted LED bi-projector headlights and they are only available as an accessory and that too for the top-end trim. In addition to this, the bumper-mounted LED daytime running lights that were offered as standard are now available as an option in the XV trim.

Under the hood, Magnite still continues with two engine options - 1.0L non-turbo petrol and a 1.0L turbocharged petrol. The latter generates as much as 99 bhp of power with a peak torque of 160 Nm. It gets mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and CVT as standard. The peak torque in the automatic unit sticks to 152 Nm.

The non-turbo petrol motor is the same as seen in Magnite's cousin, Kiger. It belts out a peak power and torque of 71 bhp and 96 Nm respectively. This engine too gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. There is no automatic gearbox for this motor in the Magnite.

Nissan Magnite is priced from Rs 5.88 lakh to Rs 10.56 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It rivals Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser and Renault Kiger.
