If there's one rock-solid SUV that has only aged well with time and has grabbed a share of the Indian market then it is the Toyota Fortuner. We have brought you several modified Fortuners that have been from Type 1 to Type 2, massive alloy wheels and more. Now, we have this old Toyota Fortuner that has been tastefully modified into the New Legender edition. Yes, that's right.
The Legender gained popularity because of the quad LED headlights, top of the line features and redesigned front profile. To some, it feels just great but it loses out on the 4x4 audience because this iteration only offers 4x2. In addition to that, the prices of the new Fortuner is only touching the skies and that's not a good thing.
So for people who like the new Fortuner Legenger but really don't wanna spend so much money, what do they do? Well, the older Toyota Fortuner can easily be modified into the Legender and it looks uber cool. The changes on this one include a complete overhaul of the front and rear looks.
The front profile now gets a new bumper, headlight set-up, grille and even the DRLs at the lower part of the bumper. What you also have is similar blacked-out parts that are inspired by the Legender. The rear profile sees a new bumper design with L shaped inserts that fit well in the Fortuner. The taillights remain unchanged.

The same case is for the alloy wheels too as they remain unchanged. This video just showcases the Fortuner from the exteriors and there's no information if the interiors are changed or not. This modified unit sticks with the monotone White Pearl colour whereas the Legender gets contrast gloss black treatment on the roof and the pillars.
The Legender is the top of the line variant and it hosts loads of features like wireless charging, a kick sensor for opening the boot, a rear USB port and ambient lighting. Rest features like dual-zone climate control, electronic IRVM, 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered front seats, cruise control are standard on the standard Fortuner as well as the Legender.
Mechanically, the Fortuner Legender only gets a 2.8-litre oil burner that generates as much as 204 PS of power with a peak torque of 500 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission only. The standard Fortuner also gets a 6-speed stick shift.
