Skoda Auto India is proactively assessing its upcoming compact SUV, the Kylaq SUV on all grounds. The upcoming SUV will be positioned in the highly competitive sub-four-metre SUV market. The brand has confirmed that the Kylaq SUV will be launched in the first week of November. In the recent development, the production-spec Skoda Kylaq has been spotted on test. Skoda Kylaq SUV: Design
In terms of design, the SUV will get a similar design to its bigger siblings such as the Kushaq SUV. It will feature split-design LED headlamps, sleeker LED DRLs, and a new grille with vertical slats. Apart from this, it will have roof rails, an upright bonnet and an electric single-pane sunroof. All in all, the Kylaq will look like the Kushaq in some aspects but it will have its design identity as well.
Features
In terms of features, the Skoda Kylaq SUV will also derive some of its features from the Kushaq and Slavia. We can expect it to get features such as an infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a 360-degree camera. Other expected features include ventilated seats, automatic climate control and automatic climate control.
Skoda Kylaq: Powertrain
The Kylaq will be powered by the same 1.0 litre TSI petrol engine which is already on offer with the Kushaq SUV. The powerhouse comes mated to a six-speed transmission manual or automatic transmission. With this setup, it will generate around 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of torque. There are expectations that the company will re-tune the engine for the SUV.
Skoda Kylaq Price and Rivals
The Skoda Kylaq SUV will arrive in India at a starting price tag of Rs. 8.50 lakh. Once launched, it will lock horns with the Hyundai Venue, Citroen Basal, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV3XO.
