Royal Enfield Electric Bike: Design, Range, Price
As per a recent online report, the cult bike maker Royal Enfield is planning to launch its first electric bike next year. As per the report, the production version can be showcased later this year with an impending launch by mid-2025. Showcased at EICMA'23, the e-Himalayan could be the first EV from the brand to debut globally.
The concept bike that was showcased at EICMA gained a lot of attention globally. From investors to the audience, the brand received positive feedback. Continuing the development of the e-Himalayan, the company has now neared its production stage. Most probably, the design will be identical to the new-gen Himalayan but with a battery pack placed underneath the tank.
One of the major issues to cover will be the long range. As the Indian market doesn't have good EV infra, the charging station density issue will be the main to overcome. Another problem is the equipment and cost. The mechanical parts will be aligned for an adventurous ride and hence their cost can make it thrice expensive than the ICE model.
We suspect that the Indian market will witness the first electric Royal Enfield hitting the roads by late 2025. The pricing we expect can go well above the Rs 5 lakh mark.
