Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ADV is the next big launch from RE. The upcoming ADV bike is being extensively tested in the country. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Touring Accessories - Details
Spied on the outskirts of Chennai, the upcoming Himalayan test mule was seen loaded with touring accessories. The ADV bike will be larger in dimensions that the current model. Also, the front end of the bike spotted was equipped with a big windscreen, a headlight guard, & front luggage pannier mounts. The front end also has USD forks and a spoke wheel. Additionally, the fuel tank design of it'll be large and sculpted with an offset filling cap. Meanwhile, the split seat design will provide a comfortable riding position. Also visible, is the engine crash guard as well as LED auxiliary fog lights.
At the rear end, the test bike has been equipped with large aluminium luggage panniers on both sides as well as a top box. Three luggage panniers and front mounts will translate into a good touring machine. Also, it'll get a new digital round speedometer with connected tech. Meanwhile, RE will introduce a new 450cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine is expected to generate more than 40 bhp, hence resolving the highway top-end lag problem of the current model. A new 6-speed transmission is also expected to make way on the bike. RE will also introduce a Scram 450 on the same engine & tweaked chassis.
Verdict
The touring accessories can possibly mean that RE will launch the new Himalayan with multiple variants. While one of the versions can be road-centric, this other version can possibly be designed for long-distance touring only. Additionally, these accessories will also go on sale separately once the bike is launched. The global debut of the Himalayan 450 is expected by Septemeber'23. In the coming months, it'll launch in India with a possible price tag of around Rs 2.75 lakh. Its main rival will be KTM 390 Adventure X.
