As seen in the photos, the ADV test mule is spotted in a foreign land. The two test bikes visible in the photos bear no camouflage. Also, the design details look production-ready. As the local test mules were indicating; these bikes also have a similar design. The front will get an elongated design with a round LED headlight similar to that of the Super Meteor 650.
Also, a small windscreen will come as standard. It'll get USD suspension and a spoke wheel. While the details are unknown, we suspect that the front tyre will be a 21-inch and the rear will be a 19-inch. The large fuel tank will get an additional frame for panniers at the front. Also, it gets split seats with luggage carrier mounts at the tail.
RE will equip it with some first-ever features. For example, the LED brake lights will be integrated into the LED turn indicators. Also, it'll get a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Meanwhile, there are rumours as well about a cruise control function too.
While we're not sure about it, different riding modes are what we expect to be offered. Underneath the fuel tank, it'll get a 450cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine is expected to generate a peak power of upwards of 40 bhp. RE will offer the new Himalayan with a 6-speed transmission and a slipper clutch as well.
Verdict
Along with these specifications, we expect that RE will offer adjustable suspension on it. Also, as visible in the spy photos, it'll get bigger disc brakes like the one on Super Meteor 650. Perhaps, the dual-channel ABS will also be offered as standard on it. Meanwhile, RE is also expected to debut the new Himalayan in different variants. One of these variants will be Rally-spec; offering hardcore off-road experience. The launch of the new Himalayan is expected by Diwali'23 in India and it'll be priced around Rs 2.75 lakh. Its main rivals in India are - KTM 390 Adventure & the BMW G 310 GS.
