Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 New Details
Carrying the legendary name of the RE Himalayan ADV, the 450 will get new latest features & a powerful setup. A close look at the photos reveals that it will get an LCD display with the possibility of Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones as well. Meanwhile, its design is different from the current model. The test bikes get properly raised front with a high-set beak. In fact, the suspension is all-new with a long-travel setting; something first for a RE. Additionally, the disc brake size on both ends is much bigger than the current model.
Some other noticeable things are the LED taillight & LED turn indicators. Meanwhile, the split-seat setup is well-proportioned along with luggage racks at the rear. On the front, RE has fixed pannier carriers for carrying extra fuel. However, the overall stance of the bike is appealing and bigger than the current bike. Additionally, it looks like the test bikes are using a 21-inch front & 17-inch rear spoke tyre setup. The rubber used is all-terrain which suits the ADV & its utility.
We suspect that the upcoming Himalayan will get a brand-new 450cc engine. It will be a single-cylinder unit with liquid-cooling tech. Its power output of it will range in the likes of 40bhp or so. Additionally, RE will equip the new Himalayan with some exclusive tech features. These might include a slipper-assist clutch, various ride modes, & even traction control. It is being speculated that the new model of Himalayan will launch around September-October.
Verdict
The RE Himalayan 450 is one of the most anticipated bike launches of 2023. Himalayan has built a strong image for RE in the ADV segment. Hence, a bigger engine & more tech-equipped bike will take the game further. Upon its launch, the new Himalayan will compete with the KTM Adventure 390 & BMW G 310 GS in India. We anticipate that it will be priced somewhere around Rs 2.5-2.75 lakh.
