As you can see in the above image, this is the newly developed twin-pod instrument cluster of the recently launched Royal Enfield Meteor 350. It gets an analogue cluster at the left with a small MID or a multi-information display) in between. This main cluster displays a ton of information which include a gear-position indicator, service reminder, fuel bar graph, clock, twin trip meters, etc. Then at the right, it gets a new separate round-shaped digital cluster that Royal Enfield calls as the 'Tripper'. This new Tripper is powered by Google and it shows real-time turn-by-turn navigation with the help of Google Maps. It is a very handy feature as you don't have to mount your mobile phone on the handlebar to navigate on the roads, instead, it will show you the navigation as well as the distance via its TFT colour screen. This new Tripper Navigation assist system will soon make its debut on some other Royal Enfield Motorcycles too. The first ones to get it after the Meteor 350 will be the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. This Tripper screen will be installed next to the 650cc motorcycle's twin-pod instrument cluster.
It will most likely draw its power from the motorcycle's battery. This will be sold as an accessory for these twin-cylinder 650cc motorcycles and will be priced at Rs. 4,750. The new RE 650s are powered by a BS6-compliant 648cc, parallel-twin, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 47.65 PS of power at 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5250 RPM. They come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and get a slipper clutch too. Also, as this Tripper navigation system is a stand-alone part, it could be soon offered as an accessory for other Royal Enfield motorcycles too like the Himalayan 400 and the ever-popular Classic 350.
