Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been officially unveiled in Los Angeles. The bike is based on the Super Meteor cruiser but has a different design. It is likely to launch soon in India. Read all of the details known about it below.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Details
The Shotgun 650 is based on the Super Meteor 650. Hence, the chassis and the engine are the same as the SM 650. But the overall length of the Shotgun 650 is smaller. Also, it is a bit lightweight at 240 kg when compared to its sibling cruiser bike. Additionally, it has an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tyre due to which the suspension tuning is also different. To change the riding position, it gets a flatter handlebar along with centre-set footpegs. The fuel tank is teardrop-shaped, and the rear fender is chopped off with an LED taillight. RE has also added new upswept exhaust cans to it, making it look cooler.
Feature-wise, it gets LED lights, and a dual-pod semi-digital instrument console similar to the Super Meteor 650 which has Bluetooth connectivity and tripper navigation as well. Dual-channel ABS and slipper clutch are also offered as standard along with alloy wheels.
The Shotgun uses the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine as the Super Meteor 650. It churns out a peak power of 47 bhp and a peak torque of 52.3 Nm. Its fuel tank capacity is 13.8-lts, thus making it lighter than the SM 650. Royal Enfield is offering the Shotgun in four different colour options. These include: - Green Drill, Plasma Blue, Sheet Metal Grey, and Stencil White. The special edition colour showcased at the Motoverse will not be on sale for customers now. Also, the paint and graphics look different on the production-spec bike than on the special edition bike.
Verdict
The Shotgun 650 is a surprise product launch from RE. Without any leaks and info, RE debuted the bike at Motoverse. Now, with the official unveiling of bike and its details, we expect that it'll debut soon in the Indian and global markets. In India, its expected price could range somewhere in between Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh.
