Lately, the Indian Automotive Industry is focusing on safer cars for the market. One of the main initiatives that should have been taken care of before but better late than never. In the recent #safercarsforIndia, Renault Triber scored 4 stars in the Global NCAP rating that is more than impressive.
Yes, 5-stars is of the utmost importance, however, the Triber scored really well. The 5+2 seater car scored 11.62 points out of 17. The neck and head of the driver and co-driver were reported good while the chest was marginal and adequate. The same case is for the knees too.
On a budget, the Triber seems to be a good option however the bodyshell of the MPV was still rated unstable as it could not behold further loads. In child protection, Triber scored 27 out of 49 points thus giving it a 3-star experience.

The team performed two tests, first with a forward-facing child seat and a rear-facing child seat. The former saw a three-year-old dummy installed with an adult seatbelt that could not withstand the crash and chest protection was rated average while the head protection was significantly lower.
On the rear-facing child seat, an 18-mont old dummy was placed and it offered full protection. Do note that Renault Triber gets the option of installing child seats at the rear but surely misses out on the ISOFIX points thus scoring 3-stars in the crash test.
Safety features on the Renault Triber include ABS with EBD, dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, a high-speed alert system, speed-sensing door lock, seat-belt warning and more. Higher variants of the Triber gets as many as four airbags.
Renault Triber is powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine. This motor delivers 91 bhp with 96 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual and an optional AMT unit. In other news, Renault is also pitching up for the turbocharged petrol engine and we expect it to be launched in the first half of 2022.
Renault Triber is quite a success in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities among the metro cities. The sales of the Triber has crossed 75,000 units and it is quite impressive. The prices of the Triber sticks between Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 7.82 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
