Skoda Kylaq: Tata Nexon, XUV 3XO Rival
The Skoda Kylaq is all set to introduce a new chapter in Skoda's design evolution with its Modern Solid aesthetic. This compact SUV, set to launch in early 2025, will showcase Skodas signature SUV styling but with some distinctive updates. Teaser images reveal a fresh design featuring split headlamps and a wide grille with vertical slats. Designed to be slightly smaller than the Kushaq, the Kylaq will have a compact wheelbase, ensuring it fits within the crucial sub-four-metre length, a key factor for securing tax advantages in India.
Inside, the Kylaq will borrow the Kushaq's interior layout but with added sophistication. Expected features include a 360-degree camera and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), aiming to enhance its appeal in the competitive compact SUV market.
The Skoda Kylaq, built on the MQB A0 IN platform shared with the Kushaq and other models, will roll off the lines at Skodas Chakan plant. With an annual production goal of 50,000 to 70,000 units, Skoda aims to meet domestic demand and set the stage for future exports. Initially focusing on India, Kylaq will soon expand to international markets.

Skoda Kylaq Engine Details
In contrast to the Kushaq and Slavia, the Kylaq will exclusively feature the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 113 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It will come with a 6-speed manual transmission, with an option for a torque-converter automatic, providing a balance of performance and convenience.
The Skoda Kylaq will find itself in a cut-throat rivalry, competing against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, , Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, and the Renault Kiger. The Skoda Kylaq is likely to dwindle within the Rs 8 lakh-Rs 15 lakh price bracket, in line with the segment standards. The launch is expected by early 2025.
