Tata recently teased the new upcoming Tata Altroz automatic for the Indian market. Once launched in India, the Altroz automatic will take on the rivals like the Maruti Baleno and the Hyundai i20 in the market. While the Altroz will be offered with a 7-Speed DCT gearbox, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno on the other hand is offered with an AMT transmission box. The i20 on the other hand can be had with an IVT gearbox and DCT gearbox. Powertrain
As per the reports so far, the new Altroz Automatic is expected to be offered with a 1.2-L Revotron natural aspirated petrol engine. This engine, in its standard avatar, delivers a maximum power and torque output of 86 Ps and 113 Nm respectively. It is currently expected that Tata will be offering the Altroz automatic with a 7-speed DCT gearbox but is yet to officially confirm the specifications of the car.

Having said this, the Maruti Baleno AGS on the other hand is available with a 1.2-L naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine can be had with a 5-speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox and boasts peak power and torque output figures of 89 Ps and 113 Nm respectively. The Hyundai i20 is available with a 1.2-L engine that delivers 88 Ps and a peak torque output of 114.7 Nm. Unlike the other two cars, the Hyundai i20 is available with a CVT gearbox.

While Tata is yet to officially confirm the price of the upcoming Altroz automatic, we are expecting the price to start from somewhere around INR 7-8 lakh (ex-showroom) The Baleno AGS and the i20 IVT on the other hand are priced from INR 7.69 lakh and INR 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
