Tata Altroz iTurbo Unveiled; Bookings Open, Launch On January 22 - All Details

Tata Motors has today finally unveiled the all-new 2021 Tata Altroz iTurbo in India. The bookings for the new Altroz iTurbo will be open in India from January 14, 2021, but the prices will be revealed on January 22, 2021. Tata Altroz is a very popular premium hatchback in the Indian market. In fact, Tata Motors ventured into the premium hatchback segment of the country with the Altroz last year. The Altroz was first launched on January 22, 2020. Now, to commemorate its first anniversary, the company will be revealing the prices of the new Tata Altroz iTurbo on January 22, 2021. The all-new Altroz iTurbo gets a new turbocharged petrol engine, a new range-topping variant and a host of new features. Let's have a closer look at it.

As we have already mentioned before, the Tata Altroz was first launched in India in January 2020. However, upon launch, this premium hatch got only a naturally-aspirated petrol motor and a diesel engine. While its diesel mill is too good, the naturally-aspirated three-cylinder petrol is average at best, considering it is a premium hatch and the rivals offer better petrol engines. So, to compensate for the same, the company has today finally introduced the new Altroz iTurbo. First of all, we will be talking about the heart of the matter, i.e. the engine, so the new Altroz iTurbo shares its powerplant with the Tata Nexon. It gets the same BS6-compliant 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Nexon, though in a slightly lower state of tune.

The all-new 2021 Tata Altroz iTurbo is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This turbo petrol motor churns out 110 PS of maximum power at 5500 RPM and 140 Nm of peak torque between 1500-5500 RPM. The engine comes mated to Tata Motors' TA65 manual gearbox which is a five-speed unit. The company will also introduce a 7-speed (DCT) dual-clutch transmission with the Altroz at a later point of time. The ARAI-claimed fuel economy of the Altroz iTurbo's manual variant is rated at 18.13 kmpl. The 0-100 kmph timing of the new Altroz iTurbo is rated at 11.9 seconds. The all-new Tata Altroz iTurbo also gets two different riding modes. They are City and Sport, and this new Sport mode has been specially introduced for those who want to experience the thrill of driving.

The Tata Altroz iTurbo will be available in three variants. They are XT, XZ and XZ+. The XZ+ is the new range-topping variant of the Tata Altroz and it comes loaded with a lot of goodies. It gets Intelligent Real-time Assist or iRA which is a smart new connected technology designed to cater to the needs of the Indian customer. It offers 27 features and can understand English, Hindi as well as Hinglish voice commands. It also gets a new Xpress cooling system that helps to cool the cabin in just no time, new high end perforated leather seats, one-shot power up windows, and two additional tweeters by Harman for an enjoyable surround sound experience. The new Tata Altroz iTurbo gets a new Harbour Blue colour variant too and it is available in all variants from Altroz XM+ upwards. One can get a contrast black roof option too in the XZ and XZ+ variants of the Altroz iTurbo. Also, it is accompanied by the new sporty black and light grey interiors of the premium hatch.
