Tata Altroz Racer Edition: What's Different From The Regular Model?
Revealed at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, the Altroz Racer Edition gets multiple upgrades than the regular car. It is draped in a multi-colour combo of orange, black hood and roof, along with the white stripes on the bonnet. The headlights, taillights, and the roof-mounted spoiler are all backed out. It also gets a new dual-tone matt black alloy wheel.
On this inside, the theme follows the outer paint shade i.e. orange and black combo. The leather used all over is a mix of both colours. Moreover, it gets a digital instrument console and a new 10.25-inch infotainment system similar to the new Nexon and Punch EV. Other interesting features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with HUD (first in a Tata car).
Under the bonnet is a new engine that is sourced from the Nexon itself. This 1.2-lt turbo-petrol engine makes a peak power of 120 bhp and 170 Nm of peak torque. Tata might offer it with the 7-speed wet-clutch DCT automatic gearbox upon launch. A manual transmission option will also be available on the launch.
The Altroz Racer will directly rival the Hyundai i20 N Line and it is expected to debut in the coming months. We anticipate its pricing to remain around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict
Altroz has proven to be a good selling car for the company. Its spacious cabin, strong build quality, and good driving dynamics are loved by the customers. However, if you seek performance, its current engine is not thrilling. Hence, the Racer Edition will be loved by performance seeking customers.
