Tata Motors is all set to launch the sporty avatar of its premium hatchback Altroz dubbed the Altroz Racer. The brand has released the first official teaser of the upcoming Altroz Racer, hinting at a potential launch in the coming weeks. Tata Altroz Racer - Hyundai i20 N Line Rival Coming Soon
The Altroz Racer was already showcased to the public at the 2023 Auto Expo and 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. The Racer edition of the Altroz will pack some cosmetic changes which will include a dual-tone treatment with a blacked-out roof, pillars, ORVM, and hood with white race stripes. The teaser has also showed the Orange colored Altroz with dual tone treatment. The version showcased at the aforementioned motor shows was equipped with multi-spoke alloy wheels but the teaser shows a similar set of alloys as the regular variants.
In terms of the interior, it will boast some cosmetic changes to suit the overall characteristics of the edition. It will get a Racer badge on the front headrests, orange and white stripes on the leatherette seats, orange colour accents on the dashboard, and orange or red coloured ambient lighting.
A major change on the inside will be the addition of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with this, the Racer edition will also get a digital instrument cluster. Other features will include a 360-degree camera, a voice-assisted sunroof, wireless charging, and automatic headlamps among other features.

Tata Altroz Racer Powertrain
The biggest highlight of the Altroz Racer is the 1.2-litre turbo-charged petrol engine producing 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Verdict
The Altroz Racer boasts some promising features and good specifications which will make it a tough rival of the Hyundai i20 N Line. It is the first Tata car to get a sporty avatar. The brand is expected to launch the Racer Edition in coming weeks with prices starting at somewhere around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
