1. More Power
The Altroz Racer, staying relevant to its nomenclature will offer more power over the iTurbo variant. The anticipated Altroz Racer is poised to offer both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the latter sourced from the Nexon model paired to the 1.2-litre turbo petrol mill putting out 120hp power with a peak torque of 170 Nm. Presently, the existing variants are equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) paired with the 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated engine. On the other hand, the Altroz iTurbo variants feature a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, delivering an output of 110 PS and 140 Nm of torque.
2. Extra Features
The Racer along with its punchier performance, will add to the bling inside the cabin as well. It will carry the rich feature set from the existing variants like wireless charging, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, TPMS, automatic climate control, and more. But there are new inclusions with the Racer that makes it even more appealing. Recent spy shots reveal a 360-degree camera that will add to the practicality of the vehicle. Along with this, there were plenty of features noticed at the Bharat Mobility Show, and you can expect features like a heads-up display, ventilated seats, fully digital instrument cluster, and much more.
3. Sporty Decals
The upcoming Tata Altroz Racer Edition debuts with an eye-catching dual-tone color scheme that injects dynamism into its aesthetic. A sleek black shade adorns the roof, pillars, wing mirrors, rear spoiler, and bonnet, providing a bold contrast against the vibrant body color. Adding to its sporty allure, white racing stripes adorn the roof and hood, accentuating its athletic design. Complementing this look are stylish blacked-out alloy wheels, further enhancing the Altroz Racer Edition's overall dynamic appeal.
4. Race Inspired Interiors
The interiors are no longer a regular affair like your standard iTurbo variants. Taking the exterior aura to the cabin, the ambiance exudes a fusion of sportiness, characterized by a captivating black and red color palette. Racing stripes grace the seats, elevated by red stitching adorning both the seats and steering wheel. Accentuating its dynamic character are "Racer" badges positioned on the headrests, while red ambient lighting envelops the cabin, enhancing the overall athletic appeal.

5. Premium Pricing
All this package at the same pricing? We don't think so and you shouldn't either. It's an obvious and sizable upgrade and there is a price for everything. While the iTurbo variants starts at Rs. 9.20 lakhs, the Tata Altroz Racere will sit at around Rs. 10 lakh ex-showroom starting price. But for the add-ons that you are getting, it's not a deal-breaker at all.

Verdict
The Tata Altroz Racer upon its launch, will make it tough for the Hyundai i20 N-Line with the niche market already being limited to small numbers. However, Altroz as a whole is the last hatchback in the country to be offered with a diesel engine, which is likely to be shelved with the next rounds of emission norms.
