Just days after its launch, the Tata Altroz Racer has already secured an impressive accolade validated by the India Book of Records, highlighting its exceptional performance on the track. The car has been awarded the title of 'Fastest Indian Hatchback', a distinction earned through record-setting laps at the CoASTT Racing Track in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it involved comparisons with vehicles like the Hyundai i20 N Line and Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo, driven by India's first F1 racer, Narain Karthikeyan.
In a competitive time attack session against immediate rivals like the Hyundai i20 N Line and Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo, the Tata Altroz Racer achieved a remarkable feat. Setting a blistering lap time of 2 minutes and 21.74 seconds at the CoASTT Race Track, the Altroz Racer secured the title of 'Fastest Indian Hatchback' on June 5th, 2024. This prestigious recognition was officially conferred by the India Book of Records on June 12th, 2024.

Tata Altroz Racer: Performance Numbers
The Altroz Racer is equipped with a potent 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that delivers 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of peak torque, paired with a responsive 6-speed manual gearbox. Notably, this represents an upgrade from the outgoing iTurbo engine, which produced 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of peak torque.
