According to recently leaked information, Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Altroz Racer in June. The brand has not yet said anything about the launch timeline. Tata Altroz Racer
Tata Motors showcased the production-ready form of the Altroz Racer at the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year. The upcoming sporty iteration of the Altroz will boast a new dual-tone paint scheme, the recently spotted vehicle was painted in orange colour with a black roof and hood. It also gets racing stripes on the hood and the roof of the vehicle. On the sides, it gets a similar alloy design as the regular versions and black-colored ORVMs. We can also anticipate a new set of alloy wheels with a multi-spoke design, blacked-out headlamps, and a roof spoiler.
The Racer version will also boast some cosmetic changes on the inside, it will get orange stripes on the leatherette seats along with orange accents on the dashboard and other parts. It will also get Racer badging on the headrests of the front seats. The footwell area will get an orange or red hue for the ambient lighting.
On the features front, it will get a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, wireless charging, automatic headlamp, rain-sensing wipers, and a voice-assisted electric sunroof among other features.
Tata Altroz Racer Engine Specifciations
The Altroz Racer will get power from a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine which will produce 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. We can also expect a DCA gearbox as an option.

Verdict
The upcoming Tata Altroz Racer will be the first sporty iteration of any Tata Car. The hatchback will compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10-12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Altroz Racer will appeal to those buyers who want a sporty premium hatchback with good features and a powerful engine.
