In a collaborative effort to expedite the development of the Tata Avinya, a pure electric vehicle that made its debut as a concept at the 2023 Auto Expo, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) and Jaguar Land Rover Plc (JLR), both subsidiaries of Tata Motors Limited (TML), have joined forces in a strategic partnership.

Tata Avinya To Be Underpinned By EMA Platform
Going forward by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), JLR is licensing its Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform to TPEM. This platform includes essential components like the electrical architecture, electric drive unit, battery pack, and manufacturing knowledge.

The EMA platform has been meticulously engineered for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) with a primary focus on optimizing interior space and comfort. It seamlessly integrates cutting-edge electrical and electronic (E&E) architecture, advanced connectivity, software features, and over-the-air capabilities. Additionally, the EMA platform features an exceptionally efficient propulsion system, cell-to-pack battery technology, a sophisticated battery management system, and a charging system that collectively enhances vehicle efficiency and overall range.
Unveiled in 2022, the Tata Avinya concept signifies the brand's commitment to the electric mobility revolution, focusing on enhancing in-cabin experiences, next-generation connectivity, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), performance, refinement, and safety. By harnessing the capabilities of JLR's EMA platform, Tata is positioning its Avinya series of premium electric vehicles as competitive and future-ready on a global scale.
Furthermore, this partnership will accelerate Tata's integration of Software Over the Air (SOTA), Features Over the Air (FOTA), and critical safety features, aiming for a 5-star EuroNCAP rating. It will also enable the implementation of ultrafast charging technologies for high-performance electric vehicles.

The 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari models have successfully completed rigorous crash testing, earning them prestigious 5-star ratings in the global NCAP tests. Notably, both SUVs achieved the highest scores for both adult and child occupant safety
