Tata Motors, on Thursday, announced that the sale of its mid-size SUV Harrier sales increased by 62% in the month of August 2021. Tata sold 4,505 units of its duo, Tata Harrier and Tata Safari in the last month. While the Tata Harrier was launched in 2019 it did not immediately manage to attract much public attention. Hence, Tata launched a revised iteration of its mid-size SUV in 2020, which helped Tata increase its sales in the market.

The updated Harrier stood and made its place in the market. Few major rivals of Tata Harrier are the Jeep Compass as well as the MG Hector. Last month, Tata has managed to sell 2,743 units of the SUV, which is a clear sign of the Harrier performing better than ever as it has even registered a YoY sales growth of 62%. Comparing the number of units sold in August last year to the units sold in August this year, there is a difference of 1094 units. Tata Harrier was able to become the fourth most popular model in the homegrown carmaker's lineup, behind the hot-selling trio of Nexon, Altroz and Tiago.
Tata Harrier is powered by a Kryotec 2.0-Litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed automatic and manual transmission.
Tata has built its Harrier on the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGARC) derived from the Land Rovers D8 platform. The SUV has healthy dimensions with a length of 4595 mm, a width of 1894 mm and a height of 1706 mm.

The SUV has 17-inch two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels to provide an unmistakable road presence. Tata has installed Xenon HID Projector Headlamps and 3D LED tail lights for a sense of dynamism and a clear view during dark.
Tata Harrier features an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also offers iRA connected car technology, electric driver seat adjustment, panoramic sunroof, JBL-sourced 9-speaker audio system, cruise control, digital instrument cluster, auto-dimming IRVM and multiple drive modes.

The safety features available on the Tata Harrier include a full quota of 6 airbags, hill hold control and hill hold descent, ABS, EBD, ESC, traction control, rollover mitigation system, and rear parking camera. Prices of this mid-size SUV start at Rs 14. 39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and go up all the way to 21.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
