Tata Motors unveiled the Nexon EV last month and we have also driven it extensively. Nexon EV launch is scheduled on 28th January and before it gets launched, here is everything you need to know about it.
Based on the Nexon Facelift
Tata Nexon EV was tested with old Nexon bodyshell but it is actually based on the updated Tata Nexon which sports some new revisions to both exteriors and interiors. It now looks more butch and attractive. The LED DRLs now fixes perfectly inside the headlamp unit and the rear taillights have also been updated. You can only differentiate the regular Nexon and EV counterpart by the Blue highlighted beltline in the EV instead of white in the regular Nexon.
New Connected Car Tech From Tata Motors
Tata Nexon is the first car to receive the connected car tech from Tata Motors which they call Zconnect. It boasts with a lot of helpful features like mobile analysis, driver behaviour, available range, charge history, geo-fencing, live location with location sharing and a lot more. You can even pre-heat or pre-cool your car remotely via the mobile app.
Our review of the Tata Nexon EV
Powerhouse
The Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2 kWh battery pack which powers the electric motors and the result is 129 ps and 245 Nm of torque. It is even available with sports mode and it delivers the surge of torque from the word GO! 0-100 Kmph time is claimed at 9.9 seconds which is really impressive for a car which is going to be the cheapest electric SUV in India.
Available in 3 variants
Tata Nexon EV will be available in XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX. Tata Motors has distributed the variants really well and even the base XM variant is decently loaded. The XM comes equipped with features like dual airbags, ABS, EBD, automatic climate control, keyless entry and push-button start, telematics app and sports mode. The XZ+ variant brings a 7-inch touchscreen system, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone roof, reversing camera with adaptive guidelines and leather-wrapped steering wheel. The top XZ+ Lux variant adds an electric sunroof, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and leather seats.
