Tata Punch EV is currently going through a testing phase and has been spotted multiple times on camera. It's set to launch globally in 2024, which is not too far away. In a recent sighting, a pre-production version was caught during testing, offering a closer look and unveiling more details about the upcoming electric vehicle.

Tata Punch EV, Fully Ready For Production
The Tata Punch EV, as revealed in the images, looks like it's all set for production. If you take a look from the back, you'll spot taillights that are ready to go, exactly like the ones on the current model. The bumper has a new look, and there are some cool additions like a high-mounted stop lamp, a rear wiper with a defogger, a shark-fin antenna, snazzy multi-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels, and door handles on the back pillars.
Now, focusing on other details, the Punch EV keeps its familiar shape, especially the split LED headlamps at the front. The LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on this test vehicle look a lot like the ones on the recently launched Nexon EV. Up front, expect a redesigned grille, LED DRLs inspired by the Nexon, complete with turn indicators, and a tweaked bumper. As for the side, not much has changed it still keeps its original look.

Tata Punch EV: Features And Performance
Taking a closer look at the test car, you can spot a prominent dashboard featuring a large floating touchscreen infotainment system. It seems like they've borrowed this system from the recently launched Nexon EV. When it comes to features, we're expecting a bunch of cool stuff wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, a new steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM (internal rearview mirror), a rotary gear selector dial, automatic climate control, a wireless charger, ambient lighting, and an electrically adjustable sunroof.
Details regarding the powertrain are currently undisclosed, but expectations suggest the Punch EV will be offered in both a medium-range version with a 26kWh battery pack and a long-range variant featuring a 30 kWh battery pack. Utilizing the ZipTron powertrain, the Medium Range version may mirror the Tigor EV's powertrain, while the Long Range variant could adopt the powertrain from the base variant of the Nexon EV. Despite the unknown specifics, an estimated range of approximately 250-320km on a full charge is anticipated.
Upon its release, the Tata Punch EV is poised to compete with the Citroen eC3 in the electric compact SUV segment in India.
