Tata Motors has introduced its fifth electric vehicle, the Punch EV, with an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 10.99 lakh. This new EV is the first to be constructed on Tata's new acti.ev architecture and holds a position above the Tigor EV in the brand's electric vehicle lineup. It boasts a claimed range of 421 km and is available in three variants: Smart, Adventure, and Empowered. Tata Punch.ev
The recently introduced Punch EV showcases a fresh front design inspired by its larger counterpart, the Nexon EV. It features continuous Daytime Running Lights (DRL) spanning the front, new LED headlamps incorporated into the front bumper, a vertically slatted lower grille, and a silver faux skid plate. On the side, there's a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels, a blacked-out roof, and ORVMs. The rear resembles the current-generation ICE iteration of the Punch, sporting a Y-shaped brake light arrangement, accompanied by a roof-mounted spoiler and a dual-tone bumper design.
The Tata Punch EV is available in 10 color choices, four of which are solid colors. These include Seaweed Green, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, Empowered Oxide, and Pristine White.
Inside, the Punch.ev redesigned dashboard making it different from the ICE variant featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen for infotainment and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The HVAC control panel is also updated, along with a new backlit two-spoke steering wheel resembling the one in Nexon EV. As for features, it includes automatic climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
Safety is enhanced by features like 6-airbags, all-4 disc brakes, ABS with EBD, electric parking brake with auto hold function, hill hold assist, electronic stability control, and more.

Tata Punch.ev Powertrain
The Tata Punch EV is available with two powertrain options. The first one has a 25 kWh battery pack, delivering 80 bhp of power and 114 Nm of peak torque, providing a range of 315 km on a single charge. The second option features a 35 kWh battery pack, generating 120 bhp of power and 190 Nm of peak torque, with a certified range of 421 km. The Punch.ev can be charged from 0-80% in 56 minutes with a DC fast charger. The top speed of the EV is 140 km/hr and it can reach 0-100 km/hr in 9.5 seconds.

The recently unveiled Tata Punch EV comes with an impressive price tag that is sure to attract a considerable number of electric vehicle enthusiasts. Packed with a variety of contemporary features, some of which are the first in its category among small EVs, the Punch EV enters competition with the Citroen eC3 but with a more budget-friendly price.
