Tata Punch Design, Interior Features and Specifications
The front-end of the Tata Punch looks a fair bit like that of bigger Tata models like the Harrier as well as the Safari. It features the same multi-tier lighting setup with hood-level DRLs and the main beams housed in the bumper. These stylish lighting elements flank a sleek upper grille finished in gloss black. The tough-looking bumper and the flared wheel arches with plastic cladding further accentuate the SUV-ish stance.
In the side profile, the huge wheel arches house diamond-cut dual-tone mag wheels that have a very stylish look. The side profile lacks as much visual drama but looks neat with a crisp shoulder line, dual-tone paint treatment, and A- and B-Pillars that will surely remind you of the Maruti Ignis. The rear-end features wraparound taillights, a roof spoiler, and a faux skid plate.
The interior will feature a 7.0-inch floating-type infotainment unit that will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Pulse will even offer iRA connected car tech along with other features such as a semi-digital instrument console, three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, push-button start/stop, and automatic climate control. The safety features on offer will include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
The Tata Punch will be sold with a 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will output a maximum power of 85 bhp along with a peak torque of 113 Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The new model could even receive a turbo-petrol engine option at a later stage, while the diesel wont is definitely not in the pipeline. Once launched, the Punch will be slotted between the Tiago and the Altroz, and will go on to lock horns with the Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUV100.
