The Tata Punch micro-SUV is close to making it to the market but the carmaker is yet to divulge information on its variant line-up or specs. That said, a leaked image that has been circulating over the web reveals the variant breakup of the new model. The aforementioned image even reveals the transmission and engine options with which each trim will be made available.

Tata Punch Variant Distribution
There will be a total of 12 colour schemes. The top-end trim will be even available with dual-tone colour paint schemes. The official debut of the Tata Punch will take place on October 4, 2021. The top-end variant, which will be called 'Creative', could cost up to Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom), while prices of the base-level variant (Adventure) could start around Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new model looks quite bold with flared wheel arches and black claddings on the side profile. The huge wheel arches are flanked with 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the new model features LED tail-lamps with the same tri-arrow signature as seen on the Nexon.
Tata Punch will be available with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 85 bhp of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The motor will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard while a five-speed AMT will be available as an option on the Accomplished and Creative versions. There is a possibility that Tata would also introduce a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine option at a later stage.
The Punch is the second product from Tata Motors to be underpinned by Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture (ALFA-ARC) after the premium hatchback Altroz. It will be positioned below the Nexon and so, it is even smaller in size. It measures 3,380mm in length, 1,822mm in width and 1,635mm in height and is approx 153mm shorter and 11mm wider than the Nexon. Tata Punch will compete against the likes Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and Mahindra KUV 100.
