With the rise in fuel prices, several carmakers are balancing out the costs by providing cars that will run on conventional fuel, CNG. Similarly, Tata has been testing the Tiago CNG on Indian roads and the same will target the buyers of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG. Please note, Tiago is the safest hatchback in the segment scoring a Global NCAP rating of 4-stars.
The rear windshield of the Tiago sported 'On Test By ARAI' and both the mileage along with the emission tests are carried out by the organisation. We believe that both Tiago and Tigor CNG will be launched by Tata in the festive season to boost additional sales.
Under the hood, Tiago will continue with the 1.2L, three-cylinder, BS6 compliant petrol engine. In CNG, expect a 10% drop in power as well as torque figures. A 5-speed stick shift will be offered in the CNG and the regular petrol also gets the option of an AMT.

We believe that Tata will bring in the CNG Tiago with the XT version. This one is offered with a multi-function steering wheel, 2-DIN music system with AUX-in and Bluetooth connectivity, manual HVAC, power windows, digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable ORVMs and others.
The prices of Tata Tiago ranges from Rs 5.09 lakh to Rs 6.45 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi for the manual versions. For the CNG, expect a premium of Rs 60,000 and it'll carry a similar 2 years/75,000 km warranty.
