The Thai-Spec new Toyota Hilux and Fortuner facelift have been rewarded a safety crash rating of 5 stars in the ASEAN NCAP safety rating crash tests. It is currently expected that the India-bond new Toyota Fortuner facelift will also be based on the Thai-spec model and thus we do expect that the new Toyota Fortuner safety crash ratings will definitely impress each one of us. As per the results of the safety crash tests conducted on the new Toyota Hilux, the new ladder-on-frame SUV from the Japanese carmaker has performed phenomenally well and has scored a 5-start rating. It is worth noting that the new Fortuner facelift shares its underpinnings with the new Hilux and thus these safety ratings were extended to the Fortuner as well. The car, in addition to a well-built cabin, features active brake assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, airbags, etc.

The SUV scored 87.46 points in the ASEAN NCAP ratings. The total score includes 47.27 points for adult protection, 22.13 points for child occupants, and 18.06 points for safety assists. The new Thai-spec model was launched early this year and is expected to be launched in the Indian market soon. The new Fortuner is expected to retain the current powertrains options which include a 2.8-litre diesel and a 2.7-litre petrol engine.
In addition to this, the SUV is also expected to feature new LED signature taillights, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, etc. The higher variants of the car may get an optional 9-inch touchscreen system and wireless charging.
