- Fronx unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023
- Brezza offers some key features over Fronx
- Key highlights explained
Maruti Suzuki launched 2 new vehicles for the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2023. Maruti Jimny 5-door and the other the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. While the Jimny caters to the adventure off-road seeking market, Fronx is more aligned towards the urban SUV market. Since it is based on the Baleno, the space on offer is somewhat similar to that of Baleno, which is an obvious expectation.
With this, it sits within the compact SUV portfolio of Maruti alongside the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Although Fronx is the latest offering from the pavilion of Maruti, there are some things that you get on the Brezza that are missing on the Fronx. Let us see what they are.
1. Sunroof
The feature that seems to be a good selling point amongst some users these days is a sunroof. And surprisingly, it is missing on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Even though the Maruti Suzuki Baleno also doesn't get one, this being a newer product, could have been integrated with one. Maruti Suzuki Brezza having a sunroof could sway some buyers towards it.
2. Maruti Suzuki Brezza Fog Lights
Another thing that is missing on the Fronx is the fog lights. Owing to the lower placement of the headlights of the Maruti Fronx, the company has omitted the fog lights altogether. This also seems to be a new normal as is the case with the new 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS facelift. It also missed out on fog lamps, which could be seen as a cost-cutting measure as well.
The Brezza sporting a taller bonnet at the front gets to keep the fog light set up. This increases the overall visibility in foggy and dusty conditions.
3. Rear Armrest
This is more of a convenience missout than a feature. Brezza sports front as well as rear seat armrests. Whereas, the Fronx gets a front seat armrest, but misses out on the rear ones. This is a good comfort feature, especially for a smooth rear-seat long drive.
4. Relatively Bigger Boot Space On Maruti Suzuki Brezza
Although in absolute terms, the boot spaces are 'almost' comparable. Fronx gets a boot space of 308 liters, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Brezza gets 328 liters. Although the difference is not very stark, the extra 20 liters could offer better luggage management and would allow a little room for something more.
5. Ambient Lighting
This is something that makes a big difference for one buyer and nothing at all for another one. The ambient light accents are embedded in the dashboard and doors as well. This adds to the overall aesthetic appeal. If you are someone looking for factory-fitted ambient lighting, you have it in the Brezza.
VERDICT- Both Fronx and Brezza cater to different sections of buyers. Brezza is more of a rugged, relatively big SUV, whereas the Fronx is inclined more toward a compact SUV feel seeking market. The platform is shared with that of a Baleno, which asserts that Fronx is a compact vehicle. Brezza received a facelift last year and offers some features in addition to the Fronx. From fog lights, and sunroof to ambient lighting, there is always something that one can offer more than the other. For a more comprehensive comparison, check out the link below.
